Our second stop in Tanzania was in the heart of Serengeti, around 100 miles south of the Maasai Mara National Reserve we visited in Kenya. We'd been told our best chance to see the big cats was in Tanzania, and it didn't disappoint.

This cheetah was walking through grasses up to her shoulder, and, just as we begged her to come out in the open, she found this little mound of grass and posed regally for several minutes.

Notice the tip of her tail at the right-hand edge of the picture. She had quite the tail!
