We sort of scored another one of the Big 5 with this not-so-very close encounter with some white rhino in Lake Nakuru National Park. We had hoped for a closer encounter, but such was not our fate this trip. The closest we could get was about 200 yards.
Considering the size of his horn, perhaps that wasn't a bad thing...
Unfortunately for our "Big 5 Checklist", the black rhino is preferred over the white. Which is probably why the black rhino is critically endangered. {{sigh}}
