This house was the first floor set in Bonanza. All of the upstairs scenes
were shot on sound stages in L.A. (The stairs leading to the bedrooms actually
ends in a blank wall. Gotta love Hollywood.)
This is the view you get of Lake Tahoe from the front of the house. (It's
a little hard to see, but I promise you that the bright white thing is really
the lake. <grin>)
Hop Sing's kitchen is still ready and waiting. A life-sized model of Hop
Sing actually stands in the next room chopping veggies for the evening meal.
The infamous fireplace around which the Cartwrights often gathered.
Across from the fireplace, a false panel just below the ceiling gave the
cameramen a great place to shoot the fireplace scenes.
Little Joe's jacket still hangs by the door.
Ben Cartwright holds court behind his desk...
...with one of the world's most famous maps over his shoulder.
